Christmas breakfast is a meal that I quite literally look forward to all year long! Here is what I’m planning on making this year!
I have so many fun memories of Christmas breakfast at my Mimi’s house – our big family would all gather in her tiny duplex and have a huge breakfast together before opening gifts. There was always something special, usually something sweet, sticky, and covered in cinnamon, like homemade cinnamon rolls or monkey bread!
Now that we have an opportunity to create our own Christmas morning traditions, I’ve been trying out different recipes to see what we love and so far we haven’t found a winner… until maybe this year!
Christmas Breakfast with Brummel & Brown
Cinnamon toast is a classic but I wanted to try something a little different and see how it worked out. I headed to H-E-B, legitimately my favorite grocery store ever, and picked up some brown sugar, cinnamon, and Brummel & Brown Original buttery spread.
Right now you can get $1 off of Brummel & Brown Original buttery spread! Look for the coupon in the Valpak envelope or on the H-E-B shelf!
I’ve been making cinnamon toast forever, but this time I switched out the regular sugar for brown sugar because YUM! It did exactly what I wanted it too – it melted beautifully together and left a crunchy, sweet crust on the toast!
Brummel & Brown Original buttery spread is made with real yogurt to give it a rich, creamy taste with less fat and calories than butter! I mixed together half the container of spread with ½ cup of brown sugar and a heaping tablespoon of cinnamon, spread it on some cinnamon raisin bread, and broiled it for about 8 minutes! It turned out beautifully and it was SO delicious!
Please note the sizzling bubbly brown sugar crust forming. Seriously though.
Keep the extra brown sugar cinnamon spread in a lidded container in your fridge and use it for cinnamon toast, to spread on a toasted bagel, or as a extra touch to your morning oatmeal!
What are you having for Christmas morning breakfast this year? If you’re looking for more ideas, head to Brummel & Brown for lots of recipes using their spread!
