i am loving this series so far! are you enjoying it too?
having somewhere to document this journey is definitely helpful in realizing my dreams but i forget to define my dreams sometimes.
my ultimate dream is to stay home in pajamas and have someone pay me to pin all the things. but that isn’t very realistic. 😉
so a more realistic dream is for me to be self employed. part of my big problem is i have no idea what i want to do in that self employment but i’d like to get there one day. if it is painting signs and making note cards that gets me there then i am a-ok with that. but if it is something else that gets me there – that would be good too.
more than just being self employed, i’d love to volunteer a huge chunk of my time to youth ministries. i love young people and i truly believe that they need a little more direction in life. i’d love to be a successful woman role model for them and show them that hard work and defining your success can lead you to places you didn’t know you could go.
those are my two big, defined dreams in life? what are yours?
part of defining these dreams has been to asses what makes me utterly happy. i’m excited to share the words of one of my best blog friends, cassie, on her happiness and her success story!
Hey yall! I’m Cassie & I blog over at The Spontaneous Designer. An indie biz blog focusing on owning a handmade business and blogging! You will find tips, tricks and tutorials along with showing off shops I love. {Cough Skye’s shop cough} 😉
Today I’m sharing what Success means to me. I love that success is different for every person. That we all have things that we define as success that others may not. Success for me is being Happy.
It’s being happy with God – my relationship with him, my faith in him. It’s being happy with my husband – who he is, our relationship, our love. It’s being happy with my kids – who they are, how we raise them, how they see the world. It’s being happy with my shop – the products I make and where my business is at. Success to me is truly being happy with this life I was given.
Success to me is also looking at my achievements in life and how far I have come. It’s understanding that while I may want to do more. I have already done so much.
I married the only man I have ever loved. I have two sweet boys with him. We bought our first house. We are creating a life. I opened a shop that turned into something more than a hobby for me. I wrote a book and sent it to a publishing house. I’m writing two more books. I taught myself how to hand stamped jewelry. I taught myself how to sew. I have steadily blogged for over a year. I have dabbled in painting. I sang karaoke on Christmas. I have grown so much as a person. My faith has grown as well.
Success for me is being happy rolled in with understanding I have already done so much, gotten over so many fears, started living my dreams, raising a family and owning a handmade business.
What is your success?!

Great post! I think success for me is purpose. Feeling like I'm fulfilling the purpose of my life and of each day, even if it doesn't necessarily feel happy or fun, even if it's rough and challenging and outside my comfort zone, I think there's joy in knowing I'm not wasting the minutes. Man, writing this comment makes me want to write a whole post on this. If you need any extra posts, let me know! haha. Now if I could just figure out what that purpose is… 🙂

I love this comment – finding a PURPOSE in life is OH so important to me. Sometimes it feels like it is RIGHT around the corner, just leering at me! I love my comfort zone. I can't wait to get out of it and meet some new people and sell myself at the conference. THIS WEEK. I WILL SEE YOU IN LIKE 72 HOURS. yeeeep!
