It’s been a while since I’ve just written to write and share what is going on, so that is what I’m all about today.
As I start this blog post, I’m sitting at Pump it Up while Jett and his friend Landry play their hearts out and I’m listening to My Favorite Murder (this episode), and crying. Yep, random for sure BUT that episode has one of my favorite hometown ghost stories ever, and if you want a good cry, go listen to it! Don’t mind me, I’ll just be here with my tissue in the floor at Pump it Up.
School started this week and all I have to say about that is HALLE-FREAKING-LUJAH!!! I’m so glad to be back to our routine and to have my days back so I can work! I feel like so many things have been “on hold” while summer has been cruising right along (by the way, it FLEW by and I cannot believe it is over!!). Buckle your seatbelts friends; I have a bunch of content pouring out of me!
Our last week of summer we used as a chance to slow WAYYYY down and we spent a lot of time together as a family before the craziness of summer melted into the craziness of school! We have a sweet little honey hole spot to fish, and Chris bagged this bass right before we had almost given up to go home! Jett is also perfecting his bubble-blowing technique!
The day before school started we had one last pool date with our small group friends to swim! We have been mostly getting together once a week all summer long to spend a day at the pool and it has been so fun. We are all so bless that our kids all get along well together and have a good time! (So do the moms, come to think of it!).
It is just about time to order my planners for the new year so I thought I’d share which ones I’m obsessed with and using! The calendar year version of this Emily Ley planner (which will be launching the first week of September) for my personal and family calendar and this Erin Condren planner for all of my blog planning! I’ll be sharing a more detailed post about how I use each of these and a glimpse inside of both of them soon!
The hubs and I started Camp Gladiator a couple of weeks ago and I feel like I’ve rediscovered a part of myself that I forgot about! I really like working out super early in the morning (that 5AM class is my j-a-m) so my neighbor and I have been hitting up the early morning class together and (even though I do hate working out) it has been nice. There is nothing that makes me feel more productive than having a workout in, being dressed and ready to go for the day before Jett even gets up in the morning! (I also feel way less guilt about having an extra cookie ha!)

In the same vein of self improvement, I discovered Olena Beley on Instagram and she has been rocking my world lately. She is a self-proclaimed Skin Health Coach and shares skincare that is actually good for your skin and has hundreds of before & afters to show that she is worth her salt. I just signed up for her 28 Days to Clean Skin challenge and I’ve incorporated a few of them and I’ve already seen a difference in my skin! I want to send you to her website but she is in the middle of rebranding everything to her name and it is a bit of a mess. So in the mean time, check out her Instagram account and look at her highlights to learn more! I might have watched ALL of her highlighted stories in one night because I was so intrigued!
One of my new favorite hobbies is keeping up with you guys through the new texting service I recently set up! It has been a great way to connect with some of my readers and followers outside of social media (which is making it harder and harder to share content that you will actually see!). So I set up this service that is free for you guys and creates an instant line of communication between us! It has been so much fun to get to know you guys a little better and have a great way to share deals and inspiration with you! (If you’re interested in joining, just text signup (all one word) to 903-231-5901!
I’ve been doing the Curly Girl Method on my hair for the last two weeks and experimenting with a few products to see how they work on my hair! I’ll be sharing a more detailed blog post about my experience so far, but I can tell you that I have seen a huge improvement in my curl pattern already! It is exciting to see my hair change quite a bit with a few easy changes and when I got my hair trimmed a couple of weeks ago, my stylist said it was looking really healthy! Stay tuned for a post with all the details and in the mean time, check out my highlight here on my Instagram account too!
So what have you guys been up to lately? Are your kiddos back in school? Do you have any big plans for the fall! Fill me in!
