For the past couple of months, Eat at Home meal planning has been a life saver for me! From delicious and easy recipes to a printable grocery list, this service is perfect for busy families!
This post is in partnership with Eat at Home, but my experience and opinions are all my own.
School is back in session for us this week and that means it is back to a regular routine for the McLain house! Regular bedtime, morning alarms, laying out clothes, homework, reading, and meals at home are all part of that routine for us, and I’d be seriously lying if I said I wasn’t desperately ready for it.
Summer has been fun – a lot of fun actually – and I’m glad for all the late nights and adventures we have been able to have! But, those adventures usually included eating out a lot, and that put a big dent in our budget. Boo! I also got quite burned out on meal planning. That responsibility falls in my lap because if Chris were in charge of it, we would have hot dogs and macaroni and cheese for dinner every night. (Not hating on my husband here – he admits to this too!)
We got in kind of a rut, and while having a go-to list of meals is super helpful, it also tends to get boring eating some of the same things over and over again. So, when Eat at Home reached out to see if I’d be interested in trying out their service, I literally jumped at the chance.

Aside from finding some new recipes to add to our repertoire (I’ll use any chance I can to insert that fancy word into a blog post!), it also makes the planning and shopping process a BREEZE. After a couple of months of using it and making sure it was worth it, I’m confident in saying that Eat at Home is about to be your new shopping BFF.
Eat At Home Meal Planning
For those of you who might be visual learners, I’ll start with this quick video explaining how it all works! The good news: it is seriously easy.
What You Get
Probably my favorite thing about Eat at Home (and the biggest surprise for me) was that they don’t just give you one meal plan, they give you four. No matter what your dietary restrictions or preferences are, I think Eat at Home has you covered.
Each meal plan includes a variety of meals for each week – five, plus a salad and a dessert on some. We tend towards the no flour/no sugar meal plan because we do try to eat mostly healthy meals; but we definitely treat ourselves too, so I’m not hesitant to add that dessert from another meal plan in there!
The easiest route to go is to pick a week and print out the grocery list and recipes for that week. (Don’t have a printer? No worries – they are mobile-friendly too – just click here for the instructions!)
The list is color-coded so you know what you need for each recipe and organized by sections at the grocery story. It is like this woman looked around in my brain before setting all of this up. It is exactly how I would do it! And the recipes are seriously super easy to put together. Some of our favorites so far have been the Sausage Jambalaya, Garden Frittata, Gyro Lettuce Wraps, and the South of the Border Skillet.
But, if you’re like me and want a lot of variety, it is also super easy to pick and choose recipes from different plans and weeks as you’d like – you would just be responsible for making your own grocery list for it.
Also – most of the recipes are either easy to convert to crockpot/InstantPot recipes OR come with directions on how to do it! I use our InstantPot a lot for meal prep so I’m glad it has this feature!
They also send you all of the recipes on the first of the month, so if you like to budget and meal plan a month at a time, they have you covered there too!
How Much Is It?
Now that is the million dollar question. Well, actually, in this case it is only the $14 question. Yep – it is just $14 a month! I know!
If that sounds expensive to you, think of it this way: How many nights a week do you spend over $14 to grab a pizza or run through a drive through because you just did not have time to plan and shop for that night? Okay, now you’re listening right?
This $14 a month fee will get you 16 meal plans, with around 100 recipes to choose from for the month. It also comes with the printable grocery list that makes shopping easy!
For busy families, single parents, parents who run things solo while their spouse travels and works, or just that parent out there who is tired of meal planning, consider this a $14 investment back into your sanity.
Wait – I thought you said there was a discount down here somewhere?
Now – are you ready to get 30% off of your membership? I thought so! Right now Eat at Home is running a great promo where you can sign up and get 30% off of your membership every month for as long as your membership remains active! So yes, forever!!
