Today I’m sharing five reasons I’m in love with and continue to go back to my Emily Ley Simplified Weekly Planner! Read on to find out if this is the planner for you!
I’ve probably said it 100,000 times, but I seriously cannot believe it is August. I feel like this year crept along at the beginning and then went in to warp speed over the summer. I always feel like once August is here that the year is basically already over and its time to start planning for the next year.
Five Reasons I Love my Emily Ley Simplified Planner
One thing that always prompts that feeling for me is that Emily Ley always launches their Simplified calendar year Weekly Planners the first week of September. And yes, I’m one of those people who sets their alarm, and then a backup alarm, so that I don’t forget to order mine! (In fact, they always tell the release date really early in the year, and I usually set my alarm right then, months in advance!)
This planner is the only planner that I have ordered and used consistently for organizing our family and my virtual assistant work. I’ve tried lots of others, but I get bored with them or they are clunky and hard to use or too heavy to carry around and I set them aside with lots of blank months left in them. But the Weekly Planner meets all my needs and wants in a planner!
Reason One: It is Truly Simple
When she uses the word simplified, she means it. The Weekly Planner includes a calendar on two pages for each month as well as a week on two pages. For each day of the week, there are just blank lines where I can write out that day’s to do list. If something has a specific time, I just write the time before it. There is nothing fancy or complicated to it at all, and it is exactly what I need for my daily tasks. I also love that it has a spot to write dinner in for each day as well!
Reason Two: Lay-Flat Book Binding
When I first started my virtual assistant business, I thought I needed a big, thick planner that was spiral bound in order to organize all my tasks and remember everything. It turned out, I quickly realized, that I hated the spiral bound situation. It made it really hard to write on the pages and was always getting in the way, not to mention it got hung on everything in my computer bag as well!
The lay-flat book binding not only keeps things very neat and smooth, but it actually does lay flat. You can see in the photos above that it lays completely flat and that just makes me really happy! It is all the details!
Reason Three: Small & Lightweight
One other thing I love about my Emily Ley planner is how lightweight it is! My old, spiral-bound planners not only took up half my bag and got hung on all kinds of stuff, but they were so heavy! It may not seem like much, but when you have a computer, a heavy planner, and all the other things that I carry with me everywhere, it makes a huge difference!
Reason Four: Beautiful & Colorful
It might be a tad bit embarrassing to admit this, but when I’m shopping I definitely think about the photographic quality of things for Instagram these days. Every year, Emily and her team design new covers for her planners and every year they are gorgeous! Between graphic stripes to pretty pineapples to amazing hand-painted watercolor designs, all of the options are beautiful and make it hard to choose!
Reason Five: I believe in the company!
There is something to be said about buying a product from a company that you truly trust and believe in. I have followed Emily for several years now and I love the message that she brings to the creative space. She is here to spread simplicity and grace, and I’m here for it! I love her challenges to simplify your home and your life, and I’ve read both of her best selling books, Grace Not Perfection and Simplified Life and they were both life changing for me!
