Spring, oh, spring, where are you! This weather in Texas has me so confused… and yes I realize that I start a lot of my blog posts with a weather report but as a Texan that is always news, no matter what else is happening in the state. We are always wondering what the weather is, how hot is it, how cold is it, is there rain in the forecast, should I pack a jacket… and then we have to go and prepare for all of those things because the weather here is just a loose prediction and we really never kno?w what we are going to get.
But, I digress.
For as long as the weather in Texas remains utterly unpredictable, then spring trends will always be easy to predict. Florals and pastels are a mainstay for springy weather – they are an easy way to incorporate pretty colors into a wardrobe after a muted, white winter. This year another fun trend I’m noticing everywhere is miniature polka dots! I am honestly kind of in love with it – sometimes big and bold is just too much so the miniature scale of polka dots keeps things feminine while still adding something visually interesting to a basic t-shirt and jeans look.
Today I wanted to share some fun ways to incorporate these three trends into your wardrobe!
Three Spring Trends to Try
So I know that making over your entire wardrobe just for a few trendy things is a no-go because who wants to spend that kind of money every season? Even as a spender, I certainly don’t. So I tried to find a few cute and inexpensive things you can add to your closet to incorporate the trend in to a lot of different outfits without breaking the bank!
Mini Polka Dots
I’m loving the fun mini polka dot patterns that I am seeing everywhere! It would be easy to purchase one or two of these pieces and make it into a few new outfits for spring! Pair a top with a pair of white jeans and sandals for a casual look, layer it under a blazer for work, or (if it is warm where you are) throw on some distressed shorts and sandals for a Saturday look!
I’m also really into scrunchies right now (who am I even??) and these polka dot ones are a super easy way to add this trend into your wardrobe without making a dent in your wallet!
Also, polka dot tennis shoes? Sign me up!

Fun Florals
Florals are what I refer to as a “classic trend” meaning that we can always expect floral prints to show up in some way or another every spring: Large print florals, tiny repeating patterns, and everything in between! So here I say it is okay to pay a little more for a piece as an investment because you know it will always be in your closet when spring peeks out again next year!
I love the floral dress the most – it would be so easy to dress it up for church with some pretty heels or throw a denim jacket over it for breakfast! And the jumpsuit (you know I’m a sucker for a jumpsuit!!) is great because the small scale of the pattern doesn’t overwhelm the all-over print!
Floral tennis shoes? Okay! These would be so cute with any of the pastel tops (down below) and a distressed pair of jeans!

Pretty Pastels
Another “classic trend” that will always be round to say hi in the spring! I love the Easter Egg-like tones of all of these tops – they are just so calming and pretty! Pair any of these tops with either white jeans or dark wash denim, a pretty pair of earrings, and a girl you have got yourself an outfit. Wham bam.
